Program Summary & Location
Immerse yourself for six weeks during the summer at the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP), in Puebla, Mexico! This new partnership with UPAEP has
several summer options for beginning-to-advanced students of Spanish.
UPAEP is a private Catholic university founded in 1973 with a focus on giving a broad range of students access to high quality higher education and on giving back to the community. The university has roughly 8500 undergraduates and 3350 graduate students and offers 43 undergraduate and 55 graduate degree programs. The campus is centrally located within the city of Puebla.
The city of Puebla is located in the state of Puebla, in the center of Mexico, only 70 miles southeast of Mexico City. With a population of two million, it is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Mexico. The campus is just a few blocks away from the central Avenue Juarez and not far from the historic city center, with is an UNESCO Cultural Heritage site.
This program is located in a country that is currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning. Review the full travel warning on the US Department of State website

Housing & Meals
You will live with host families, giving you an excellent opportunity to learn about Mexican family life and apply your Spanish language skills outside of the classroom. Host families are
carefully screened and are located no more than 20 minutes from campus via public transportation. No more than two students are placed per family, generally in single rooms, although double rooms are available upon request.
Breakfast and dinner are provided by your host family. Campus cafeterias are open all day for lunch and snacks.
