Program Summary & Location
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has partnered with University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) to offer students the opportunity to study in Accra, Ghana. The USAC Ghana program combines study at the the USAC Center with study at the University of Ghana. At the USAC Center, you will taking at least one specially designed course from USAC professors
with other USAC students. The rest of your classes will be at the University of Ghana with other Ghanaian and international students. The University of Ghana-Legon was founded in 1948. It is the largest of the four universities in Ghana and currently enrolls nearly 7,000 students. Ghana is a diverse country that provides an excellent environment to learn about the history, politics, development, and natural resources of West Africa. To learn more, visit the USAC site
Located in Western Africa, Ghana is bordered by Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, and Togo. With the Gulf of Guinea to the south, Ghana has a tropical climate that ranges from 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The campus is located 8 miles northeast of Accra, the capital of Ghana.

Housing & Meals
You will live in a double room in an International Student Hostel. A few Ghanaian students will live there with you, which offers a great way for you to meet local s
tudents. Each floor hascommunal bathrooms, kitchen area, and a TV lounge. The ground floor includes a small cafeteria and convenience store, internet cafe and a laundromat. There is Wifi at the hostel for those with their own computers or an internet cafe for those without.
