Program Summary & Location

India's role in the world and our lives means that learning about India first hand will provide a body of knowledge that will enhance your UW-Eau Claire degree. You will spend three weeks in India exploring the cities of New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Mumbai while learning how more than 20 states in the country (formerly separate kingdoms) survive in harmony, with their varying lifestyles, food, languages, and caste system. The common language for communication is English.
UW-Eau Claire faculty will cover topics related to the business, economy, politics, society, religion, history and culture in India. Whatever your major, you will have something of interest that you can learn from this program. Two weeks of lectures, business site and cultural visits will take place in New Delhi, the capital of India, and surrounding areas. Curriculum will be provided by Professors at Delhi University and Shri Ram College of Commerce during winterim. SRCC is a renowned business school in India and retains its prestigious position as the foremost of institutions dedicated to Commerce and Economics education in the country. The last week will be spent in Mumbai for business and cultural visits.

Housing & Meals
While attending classes at SRCC, you will live in double rooms in the nearby International Guest House. While traveling to Agra and Jaipur (2 nights), and Mumbai (5 nights) you will be staying in double rooms in hotels. Meals will be provided while at SRCC but meals will be on your own when traveling to nearby cultural sites.

To be eligible for this program, students need to have a 2.6 GPA (may be flexible) and be in (and maintain) good academic, conduct and financial standing. Students can apply as a first year student but need to have sophomore standing by the program start date. (If you have concerns over eligibility, please contact the coordinator listed at the top of this page). COURSE REQUIREMENTS: ECON 103 or ECON 104.
