Level of Support: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Valparaíso, Chile

On-Site Staff:

Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV) has an international office that will assist you while abroad.  The staff makes host family arrangements prior to your arrival on campus.  They will provide an airport pick-up service and hold a week-long orientation for all international students.  During orientation week, the staff is able to assist you in registering for courses.  The staff is also available to help if any questions or concerns arise while you are abroad, but you must be willing to reach out to them and ask for assistance.

Health & Disability Resources:

PUCV has a student medical center that provides basic medical care for students.  The international office also has information for local medical facilities and can refer students to these facilities if they cannot get an appointment at the medical center on campus.  The university also has agreements with most major medical centers for emergency assistance.

PUCV will do their best to accommodate any disabilities, but services cannot be guaranteed or may different than what you are used to in the United States.  Specifically, PUCV mentions that students with physical disabilities may have difficulties on campus as many of the buildings do not have the minimum requirements to make them accessible.  Please contact the Study Abroad Coordinator to begin exploring what services might be available to you.

More Information:

If you still have questions on level of support, you can contact the Study Abroad Coordinator listed on the main program page.
