Level of Support: Guatemala Faculty-Led Immersion

On-Site Resources:

This is a faculty-led immersion program, which means you will travel with 13 other UW-Eau Claire students and 2 UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff. They will be your first step for any on-site support you need. Throughout the program, students also interact with Guatemalans through their host families, program activities, and service learning projects. 

Health & Disability Resources:

The program partners with de la Gente, a local organization that works with coffee farming communities to create economic opportunity that improves the quality of life for their families and communities. Their local staff will be guides throughout the program, and are an excellent resource for any questions or concerns you have. They are knowledgeable about quality English-speaking doctors or hospitals in all cities you visit. This program specifically partners with de la Gente because of its detailed and experienced risk management policies and network of local resources.
