Level of Support: China Faculty-Led Immersion

On-Site Resources:

This is a faculty-led immersion program, which means you will travel with 10-12 other UW-Eau Claire students and 2 UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff. The summer 2019 program will be led by Tom Sulzer (Learning and Technology Services) and other UWEC faculty TBD. These leaders will be your first step for any on-site support you need. You will also be paired one or more Chinese "buddies" who will help you navigate Chinese culture outside of the formal framework of the program. Past students rated spending time with their buddies as one of the highlights of the experience.

Health & Disability Resources:

This immersion program partners with Jinan University Zhuhai Campus during the majority of the program, which has its own clinic on campus. Jinan University is also close to several high standard hospitals.  In the past, our Zhuhai partners have gone out of their way to accommodate and support UW-Eau Claire students and faculty who need medical attention. During your time in Hong Kong, our local partners or the CISI insurance website can provide nearby English-speaking medical facilities.

More Information:

If you still have questions on the level of support, you can contact Jeff DeGrave (Intercultural Immersion Coordinator) by calling 715-836-4471 or emailing degravjr@uwec.edu.

After acceptance into the program, you will obtain more information about services in orientation materials, in your program guide, and at your program location.
