Level of Support: Thailand Faculty-Led Immersion

On-Site Resources:

This is a faculty-led immersion program, which means you will travel with 10-12 other UW-Eau Claire students and 2 UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff. The Summer 2019 program will be led by Joseph Orser (History) and Ka Vang (Student Support Services). They will be your first step for any on-site support you need.

Health & Disability Resources:

Adequate medical care is available in Thailand. In Chiang Mai, there will be access to basic medical facilities that can provide modern medicines, vitamins, and ordinary health care products – although they might not have the same brands that are available in the U.S. The city of Chiang Mai has several large, modern hospitals with dental facilities and also many clinics. Our local partners are knowledgeable about quality doctors or hospitals in all areas you visit, and will assist you with any questions or concerns. The CISI insurance website can also provide English-speaking medical facilities.

More Information:

If you still have questions on level of support, you can contact Jeff DeGrave (Intercultural Immersion Coordinator) by calling 715-836-4471 or emailing degravjr@uwec.edu.

After acceptance into the program, you will obtain more information about services, at your program location, in your program guide and in orientation materials.
