ELIGIBILITY 
To apply, you must be a currently enrolled, degree-seeking, undergraduate student. You need to be in good standing (academic, financial and conduct) and have a cumulative GPA of 2.3.  You must maintain enrollment and continue to meet the academic standing and GPA requirements the semester prior to departure.  You may apply as a first year student but you must have at least sophomore standing by the time the program begins. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to apply. This program is also open to non-UWEC students. Please note that in the case of a competitive selection process, priority will be given to UWEC students.

COURSES
The course you will take in January is ENGL 272: Topics in Popular Culture with the course theme being Transnationalism and Tourism in Jamaican Culture. This is a 3-credit course that meets LE-R2/GE-IV and carries 3 credits of Foreign Culture.*  Students must also take a 1-credit prerequisite course during the second half of Fall 2019 entitled ENGL 391: Jamaica, which also carries 1 credit of Foreign Culture.* 

*Note that students pursuing a B.A., B.F.A., or B.M. degree in the College of Arts & Sciences MUST take the equivalent of two semesters of a foreign language to fulfill the FL/FC requirement. See the university catalogue for details.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The Winterim 2020 program tentative dates are for three weeks from January 5through January 25. Do not book your flights until after Orientation in October.
