Program Summary & Location
UW-Eau Claire students have been studying at Harlaxton for more than 20 years! Each semester, Harlaxton College is home to roughly 150 students from the University of Evansville, Indiana and other U.S. partner colleges and universities. Beginning in fall 2020, students will take a 3-credit British studies course and fill their schedule with elective courses. Students attending in fall 2019 or spring 2020, you will take a 6-credit British Studies class from British professors and fill your schedule with electives. Students in a variety of disciplines can earn liberal education, and sometimes major or minor, credits at Harlaxton. In addition, nursing majors
in the fall semester of their senior year can study for that semester in Harlaxton. There are also Honors options
, and a number of biology
classes now offered!
UW-Eau Claire also sends students to Harlaxton's summer session. You will take three or six credits during this five-week "mini-Harlaxton" experience. Beginning in summer 2020, students can add on a 3-credit internship at the end of the summer program (additional fees apply).
Harlaxton College consists of a 100-room Victorian manor house, the adjoining Carriage House, and small gymnasium. Located on the edge of Harlaxton village, two miles outside of Grantham, the College is set amidst the green pastures and rolling hills typical of the English midlands. Nottingham, the nearest city, is about 20 miles away. A convenient rail network provides easy access to other parts of Great Britain, making trips all over the country possible. London is about an hour away by train, giving students easy access to flights to other parts of Europe. To learn more, click here

Housing & Meals
You will share a room with up to four roommates in Harlaxton Manor and the adjoining Carriage House. Meals are served cafeteria-style in the Dining Hall. There are also laundry facilities, a "telly" lounge with DVD, a general store in the Manor, and campus-wide wireless access.

Ready to Apply?!
To be eligible for this program, students need to have a 2.3 GPA and be in (and maintain) good academic, conduct and financial standing. Students can apply as a first year student but need to have sophomore standing by the program start date. (If you have concerns over eligibility, please contact the coordinator listed at the top of this page).
applying to complete their first semester senior year during fall semester at Harlaxton must have a 2.5 GPA and be in the first semester of their junior year at the time of application.
